This is my betta prince. He is in a 10 gal tank alone. His decor is silicone anenome and silk plants. I have 4 other bettas just fine. I bought him when I discovered 10 gallons was to small for any of the glo fish (danios, tetra, glosharks).... The tank is cycled the heater stays at 80 degrees filter came with kit. I do water changes every week and change filter media when needed. I got this opal betta one week ago. I acclimated him to the tank before adding . Wen I added him he was pretty active. He was very eager to eat and swim around constantly he would play with the fake anenome chase yr finger everything. Suddenly the past 2 days he has no appetite at all. He even turnt down bloodworms... he wouldn't move in his tank the filter was just moving him along the surface were he was just staying breathing air. I moved him into a little 1/2 gal betta quarantine I bought. It my betta hospital. I took some of his gravel from the tank and fresh tap water treated with prime bc I have harsh city water and aquarium salt to medicate. I didn't want to risk using his tank water not knowing what is wrong. He has no visible signs of illness hard to see if he lost color he is a white opal betta. He has no bumps just staying at the top corner not eating moving just taking breaths from the surface every 2 minutes not even using his gills it seems... I am doing a every day water change why he trys to get better in this quarantine with aquarium salt. When I removed him from his 10 gal into the quarantine I touched him with my hand to see if he was dead bc he was at the top on his side letting the filter move him around.... he didnt swim off he just started to move his fins to show me he was alive it seemed. Very sad so I picked him up put him put him in quarantine he swam to the corner and didnt move. I then knew something was wrong bc a healthy fish would panick wen being moved from home to somewhere new. I know this bc when I did a 100% wanted change to my 2 year old betta Henry's tank he was **** in the bowl why I was cleaning the tank. It was a 5 gal tank that hadn't did a 100 percent water change on in 2 years and I felt compelled to go through with the change and redecorate his tank more appealing to the eye.... Anyways can someone tell me what I should do for prince or if they see something I'm not seeing wrong with him. I asked my local fish store and she said in a week if he still is st the surface not active or eating the least cruel thing I could do is euthanize him with clove oil. I don't want to do that he is gorgeous. Bettas are so incredibly smart and cute they're curious social. It would be like having to put your dog asleep you know itll put there surfer to a end but hurt u... I'll attach a picture of wen I first got him from petsmart and put him in his tank and now that he is sick in quarantine...

What are your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

Are those anemones plastic? Because those will hurt a Betta if they are (mostly fins)
Silicone anenome very soft and wiggly. The tanks cycles ammonia 0 nitrites 0 nitrate 20 wen I do water changes every week I use prime to detox the harsh tap water. And the ph is constant 7.6 temp 80 all my other bettas are doing just fine. They all have the same water parameters bc I use the same tap water and water conditioner on all of them. I keep all the tanks on 80. I have a total of 5 10 gal tank kits and 5 bettas this guy being the 5th to the collection. They have a diet of live worms I buy from petsmart occasionally freeze dried blood worms betta pellets and flakes for my guys who get bloated easily lol. I really am clueless on prince he is newest and prettiest in my collection first time buying a fish from petco. I came to fishlore because I'm completely clueless on what to do...

Are the white spots on his fins ich? It’s hard to tell; the picture is pretty blurry.

My opal had ich at the beginning and it was really hard to see. Are his gills red? It looks reddish in that area, but again, blurry.

Maybe swim bladder issues if he’s stuck at the top? What does his poop look like?

I’ve had to take basically photo shoots of my guy daily for the vet, I know how hard it is!

I’m leaving a pic of my guy. He’s kinda in fish hospice. He is an opal who has lost his color. The white on his head isn’t normal, either, it’s granulomas.

He is gorgeous wow. I'm having a **** of a time getting a focused picture in this quarantine tank. I actually don't see any visible bumps indicating ick but do have ick medicine if I notice any pop up. **** he feels so sick he is letting me touch him wen I felt him I didnt feel any bumps either so far. I'm very stumped. Guess that's what makes fish keeping a never ending thing sometimes things happen and u don't really know. I guess it all boils down to fish weren't meant to be pets they're meant to be in there natural habitat... so I guess with years of captive breeding tampering and altering fish there's bound to be a issue there's no explanation for

I don't think you have any reason to euthanize this fish, it seems his only symptom right now is boredom and apathy. You should only resort to euthanization if you're sure the fish is suffering from a painful, terminal disease. This fish's fins are perfectly intact, there are no spots, bumps, fungI or parasites visible, no reddened irritated gills, no swollen eye or pine coning scales. Just keep him under observation and continue to keep up with normal maintenance. If he's so lethargic that he's letting you pick him up without trying to get away, yes that's a worrying sign but I think you should let him be for now.

He was euthinzed 5 days ago. He would not eat or move he would let me pick him up and hold him and touch him in the tank. He had no will to live he would try to come out the water I had to keep the water line to the top. I transferred him into a tiny container to quarantine and give salt bathes he still got no better. He started to turn yellow he was a opal betta snow white idk why he was turning yellow. His water parameters are perfect the same as my other 4 betta tanks he had a heater filter the tank was cycled nitrates stayed between 10 and 20 water changes weekly when I bought him he wasn't active. When I added him in the 10 gal tank from the cup he didnt show excitement like all the other bettas I've bought. He was just a sickly dude and I didnt want him starving to death nor to be in pain I researched a million things on what gave him the infection looking yellow color maybe it was velvet I'm thinking it was a rust color developing over his snow white
