New Betta: Multiple Questions

20190607_211637.jpg I have had my juvenile female betta since Monday. She was in quarantine while I waited for plants to arrive and rescaped the tank. It's at the tail end of cycling (I did a water change and dosed prime yesterday before adding her).

Put her in last evening - she was super stress stripey and I just figured she'd calm down by this morning. I added tank water to her quarantine over an hour or so and water temps were the same. Left lights off when I added her in.

This morning she was still stripey!! She's also glass surfing and I tried changing lighting and things to see if that made a difference - it did not.

She's been scrounging around on the bottom looking for food (probably eating the detritus worms and baby pond snails!). So now I am worried about her eating too much.

She hates the flow of my filter so I need to figure that out. I was planning to make a sponge filter anyways so I guess I'll have to get on that sooner than later.

I'm just stressed and worried!!
Also, I'm at work today and can't monitor her which just adds a another whole layer...

What should I be doing? What can I do? Is this normal? Am I just overreacting? I plan to just fast her today.... Maybe the weekend if I don't see snails.

Is the quarantine tank cycled? If so shes prob just gettin used to her new environment. 3 of my fish glass surfed for almost 2 weeks til they got used to their new home. U could look up on youtube how to use a water bottle to baffle the filter. Id try to calm down tho shell b ok

The quarantine was not, I was just doing water changes (even those just stressed her for a few minutes). She was stressed the first day after I put her in there but was all pretty and colored up by the next afternoon.

I really expected her to be happier with plants and things to hide in now that she's in the 10 gallon. She just acts kind of frantic.

Please list:
Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate
Temperature
How you acclimated her
My tank parameters last night were:
Am - 0.25ppm
NI - 0.15ppm
Na - 5ppm

I dosed prime for the whole tank before adding her as the tank isn't fully cycled yet. It is planted. Hoping this evening things are better looking. Temp is 78-79 which is what she was in while quarantined. I acclimated her to the water in the quarantine tank by taking out some of that water and adding in the new tank water little by little over about 2 hours I think until it was mostly tank water. Put her in and kept lights off (room lights were on).

Okay home and just retested...
My tank parameters are currently:
Am - 0.5ppm
NI - slightly above 0
Na - 5-10 but closer to 5

She's still stripey and busy hunting detritus worms apparently. Hopefully I can adjust the filter flow to a rate that she approves of.

I just want her to live her best fish life!

I think she'd be fine. Just give her a few more days to let her get used to the tank. The female bettas that I've had in the past are usually more easily stressed than the males.

I adjusted the filter flow for her and she was MUCH less stressed within 5 minutes or so. She still gets stripes but they are brief.

Ammonia dropped to 0.25ppm and nitrites are now 0 so I think the cycle is about to be ready to handle her bioload. She's been eating pond snails and is fat now so I guess I'm not feeding her two days in a row?

Lol yeah, if she is fat off the snails give her a few days to get it out of her system. Sounds like she won't starve.

I used to be able to count 12 snails without even looking (otherwise there were many more if I searched). I looked HARD and can find 5. Some of those are missing parts of their shells?? I guess it's good enrichment for her lol!
