i have a 10 gal tank with 8 cory cats and my betta fish died a few months ago so i decided to get a new one. i just got one like four days ago and he's refusing to eat. every night i have tried to feed him pellets, flakes, freeze dried bloodworms, but nothing is working. he keeps trying to eat my catfish food but they kinda push him away. he looks and acts super healthy but can someone tell me what to do plz

Maybe try soaking the food in garlic juice. This will usually entice fish to eat it. Sometimes fish are picky and will refuse manmade food for ages.

Do you feed shortly after you turn the tank lights on?

If the garlic doesn’t work, I‘d start to look into live food, as the movement might push him to eat.

Does his stomach seem sunken in at all?

I should also mention that new fish can go up to a week without eating. 2 weeks is when you should begin to get concered.

Frozen bloodworms or brine shrimp?

Mine wouldn't eat dry food.

Have you tried Bug Bites? That is how I finally got mine to eat and for a long time that is all he ate. Now he also takes Omega Betta pellets. But he still won’t eat Bloodworms live or frozen.

Bettas can go at least 14 days without eating with no worries of negatively impacting their health. I wouldn't worry too much. Something that may help is frozen. Frozen bloodworms or brine shrimp may be a good way to get him to eat and the catfish will love it too. Where did you get the betta from? Imported fish and things like that aren't use to commercially prepared diets so for them you may need to look into live foods. Bettas from LFS and pet stores usually will eat most commercial diets so worst case you can try frozen

He's probably use to a pellet or flakes. Give him time :)
