New betta and aquarium salt?

just picked up a new mustard gas betta and am wondering if I should put some aquarium salt in just to be careful? he looks great but am kinda worried now after buying some sick tetras from same seller few weeks ago.. only had him for a few hours I also put in some Indian almond leaves for him.

 

I wouldn't add anything unless you see something wrong. Just make sure to do weekly water changes.

 

I add the salt 1 day before just to make sure no fungal growth.

i do salt baths for the first 3 to 4 days after buying any betta to be sure
edit: you don't wanna end up like whats happening to me I bought this beautiful blue halfmoon doubletail blue butterfly and he was perfect flared at me from the start and I didn't quarentine him I just added him into my 10g with a divider in the middle he got my halfmoon female sick and himself sick so I would just be sure

That situation sounds very specific, I’m guessing you’ve had experience with buying sick fish huh .

always my parents wont let me buy fish online and most local pet stores other then petco petsmart their prices are crazy and their choices are small and mostly saltwater so I'm forced to buy from petsmart i refuse to buy from petco anymore because I just cant handle the fact they are like Walmart for animals. But I always have kanaplex salt and tetra lifeguard to help
