New anubias rhizome fuzzy growth like new wood??

Hello all!!

I just recently added several new anubias to my tanks. I bought the dry ones in the tubes from petco. They all look healthy, green leaves, good looking rhizomes. It's been about 5 days, and on one anubias, the rhizome is covered in a fuzzy film like new driftwood gets. Is this normal, or is this one plant rotting?

Picture in post to follow....

Picture. Yes it's floating, I'm waiting on my wood to show up.

This is another in the same tank, not doing the fuzzy growth thing.

Looks like it could be bacterial bloom. From what I can see in the pic at least the rhizome looks intact.

That doesn’t look like a good sign on a living plant. I don’t like the sound of “I brought the dry ones” . It’s a living plant normally they are wet .

They were the ones they sell that are grown out of water, the pest free ones. I did not buy the ones from a tank.

I chose the healthiest, best look specimens I could sift though. The leaves of the plant still look amazing, just the fuzziness on the rhizome.

Should I clean it off?

I have no experience converting anubias from emersed to submerged unfortunately. Not sure how well they handle the transition.

As far as I can tell they are grown in a few inches of water with just the leaves out of water and the rhizomes in water. No plant grows dry that I know of?

I think you should try and clean it off for sure.

I had some anubias that got that fuzzy stuff around the rhizome and within another week it was going away, not sure what it was but my plants are healthy and growing good
