hello...
I added two angels to my community tank 5 days ago. Now there are 6 serpae tetras and two angels in the 29g. I believe one is called a 'marble' angel, the other with the light stripes, I don't know what they are called, anyone know?
They are a good size at about.. almost 3 inches. So not sure how old they are. I'm hoping they are a 'pair' and will mate at some point. Not sure of the behavior in this species so will have to do some research. For now they hang out together and get along great! ;D

Beautiful!! Since they are cichlids, I get warned that angels can be aggressive, and I've heard stories of them attacking and killing other fish. However, I have a pair with some barbs, tetras, and a pleco, and they basically keep to themselves and are very peaceful.

HI Bonochick~ thank you!! ;D I have them with the six tetra as I mentioned, and I see no problems with them so far. They have plenty of live plants to hide in if they need it. The tetras are fine and a lot smaller and are busy chasing each other around to bother the Angels. These Angels are gorgeous and so much fun to have in the tank. I don't plan to put anymore fish in the 29 gallon with them.

Nice fish. They will be just fine togehter. If the fish don't fit into the angels mouths they won't eat them. I had my angels with tetras and they never bothered them. They are fun fish to have.. Good luck

Nice to see other people also in love with angels!! And you've certainly got beautiful ones there, Capekate!
I've 2 Lace black angels and enjoy them lots! They look so graceful when they swim, the way they take off and stop...

Well I was more worried about the tetras going after the Angels fins.. but so far it seems ok. THe lil tetras really are funny to watch. Its like they are sitting around planning a mode of attack on an Angel, and when one of the tetras go up and follow the angel; as soon as the angel turns around.. the tetra flee's and like.. whooo meee? I'm not doing nothin..! lol.. I thought that a male betta would be ok in the tank with them, but as he was floating in his bag, he was flaming at them, so he went into his own tank. Wondering if the female betta would do ok with the angels? anyone know? or would the female betta be ok with the tetras? she is a wee lil one. I would love to be able to introduce her to the larger tank. Its very well planted with plenty of hiding places. Any suggestions?

Thank you! I do love watching them. They have a personality much like the bettas in regards to the fact that they are 'people' socialized. They really do watch you when you are around the tank! other than that they are not anything like a betta. See post above on a question I have, maybe you can help me with?
thanks, kate

Exactly!

I don't have betta's so won't really know how will the female get along with the angels. I'm planing on getting a male as I recently bought a 8gal tank, and looking forward to it too!
But as far as I know the male is the aggressive one not the female, but i'm not sure...someone who knows is sure to help though!
