New and improved Aquascape. Review? Suggestions for better setup?

SomyaValecha

Hi guys, this time with the setup I tried to be less linear and add more plants. Although there aren't a lot of plants yet, I might add more in the far future. Currently, I do have a lot of plants (pothos and lucky bamboo) with roots in the aquarium in hopes that they will grow out and provide more cover at the top of the aquarium, also to reduce nitrates. The things in the corner (the cups) are just a mini corner I made for my betta to relax in. I know the substrate is kind of wacky, we mixed black and white a LONG LONG time ago before we knew any better. I would remove the white from it if I could and add more glofish substrate but there currently isn't an efficient way to do that. I really am not going for the "natural habitat" look as you can see. Just something fun that also looks good and provides for all my fishes needs. But I'm always looking for new ideas and suggestions.

I like the real plants and black gravel to mimic the fishes’ natural habitat
