New 55 Gallon Tank Build

Hey Everyone,

I'm starting a new build this week, just picked up a fluval 55 gallon aquarium kit and an extra c4 filter and 200w so I have double. I plan on doing a planted tank with tropica aquarium substrate capped with pool filter sand making about a 3 inch base. I have a few ideas for stocking options and want to hear your opinions.

Stocking is as follows:

6 Platinum Angels
4 Bolivian Rams
2 Pearl Gouramis
18 Rummynose Tetras
10 Black Phantom Tetras
10 Fancy Guppies or Ballon Mollies
8 Cherry Barbs
8 Three-strip Pencil Fish
6 KuhlI Loachs
6 Julie Coryadora Catfish
2 Skunk Loachs
2 Bristlenose Plecos... 1 Albino
4 African Dwarf Aquatic Frogs
Assortment of Mystery Snails

Thoughts and suggestions would be great, thank you! I'll post some photos once everything is setup

 

You could somewhere add in some sparkling gouramis, very peaceful and make little croaks! They get 1.5 inches group of 4-6 is best

 

Isn't that quite a lot of fish for 55 gallons? If I'm wrong, someone please educate me.

 

Far too many fish. I would remove the angels and most of the schooling fish. Two plecos too.

I would do

4x rams.
10x black phantoms
8x kuhlis
1x BN pleco
3x gourami

Or something along those lines.

 

I counted 82 fish, plus the frogs and snails. I'd say you need to reduce that by 2/3, to get it down to around 30, and that might still be too many.

 

Sorry sorry everyone lol, I forgot to mention that I was trying to pick between the 2 similar fish, so rams or gouramis, Rummynose or black Phantom and guppies, cherry barbs or pencil fish, Kuhlis or Cory's, that is my bad I apologize.

The only things that are staying for sure are the Angel's, skunk Loachs, plecos, frogs and snails, and I don't count the snails as a stocking thing

 

I saw skunk loaches in my LFS and did some research. Read that they are considered semi-aggressive and can be quite fiesty.
They are cute though!
