hello again, I read on this thread
    Goldfish Profiles
that you can keep a fantail goldfish in a 20g... is this still accurate. If so, would I be able to keep 2 fantails or just 1 with a school of white cloud minnows?

Would he/she be lonely without another fish in with him?

I have an aquaclear 20 filter and am planning on getting another tetra EX40 to add to the set up

Can't keep goldfksh with WCMM, and it's 20 gallons per goldfish plus 10 per additional goldfish. Goldfish like friends, so you really need a 30 gallon for them.

Fancy goldfish need 40 gallons minimum

Goldfish are social so you need at least 2.
20 gallons per fancy is a good rule.

White clouds with goldfish is not a good idea. Fancies get to 8-12", white clouds get to 1-2".

There's quite a few things on that thread I disagree with

thanks for the replies. It was just a possibility for stocking my 20 gallon. I understand now that this would not be in the best interest of the fish, thanks

You could still do a school of white clouds with some other fish.

Assuming this is a 20 long you could do this
    8 WCMM
    3 Platies
1 Bolvian ram or 6-8 panda cories
    6 Amano shrimp
    1 Nerite snail
