Hello

I'm setting up a new 20 gallon aquarium and want to use live plants. when do I introduce the plants to the tank? can I put them in right away or do I have to wait?

Thanks for your help.

Right away is just fine as long as you post pics of the tank otherwise it will just cause algae.
Seriously...just fine and welcome to Fishlore!

Plants will even help you cycle faster.

Welcome to Fishlore

You can add live plants at any time you want. I always think it is best to add the live plants first so that they have a chance to get established & growing before introducing the fish. Plants will also consume lots of ammonia so they help with the water quality to.

Fishlorians are photo addicts, so make sure to post some pics of your tank in the Photos section of the forum.
