i got a new 10 gallon, I was thinking of shell dwellers, yellow peacock cichlid and cherry barbs. Maybe an oto or Cory cat. Wanted just one peacock but are they all compatible?

Sorry they are not compatible in a 10 gallon tank. Here is a stocking list for a 10 gallon tank. Maybe this can help .:)
    Stocking options for 10 gallons

If you wanted shellies... Plan the tank totally around them. In a standard ten (just like in a half ten) you could have Lamprologus Ocellatus or Neolamprologus multifasciatus/ssimilis. 1M or 1F or 1M/1F. Watch for aggression and with luck they will build a colony.

Remember these fish focus on the bottom of the tank and are territorial. They do need some broken sight lines if doing a male and female and lots of shells in their sand bed.

    Hope that helps!

All of those fish besides the shell dwellers need larger tanks. Cories and otos are also schooling fish so need groups of 6+ of their own species.

Also if you do shell dwellers realize that if you do a pair you have to have a bigger tank or someone to take the fry :)
