I have had 12 neons for over a year now. How come I never had any of them pregnant and spawn? There's gotta be at least one pair among 12 neons, right? What are the conditions necessary for neons to spawn?

I don't think neons have spawned successfully in captivity until recently in Florida in a fish farm. My guess is either because a tank just doesn't have all the conditions exactly right for them to spawn, or the eggs are being eaten before they become free swimmers.

Isabella the search for an answer to your question lead me to some interesting places. I found out that neon eggs need dark to hatch and if they had spawned(they are egg layers) them or the other occupants of the tank probably ate them Then I found a site with details. I can't guarentee the site but I enjoyed it and thouhgt you might also.
