Nerite VS. Mystery

I plan on buying some snails for my tanks and I just wanted to know what the pros and cons of both of these snails are. Which snail is best at eating algae? Which has a smaller bioload? Which is hardier? Things like that. Anyone with any information is welcomed to give me their thoughts

id recommend nerites: they don't reproduce in fresh water, they are great algae eaters, they stay relatively small, generally hardy, great shell patterns and coloration. Best of luck.

The answer to all of your questions would be nerites. That being said, I think the mysteries are a lot more fun, so if you want a snail for everything you said, nerites all the way. If you want one that is just awesome but mostly useless other than being a ton of fun to watch, mysteries

X2, I love my nerites. They're fun to watch, won't multiply, and I haven't seen a speck of algae since I've added them.

I would agree, I prefer the nerites as I found for me they are much hardier, they are algae eaters and do have a smaller bioload. I have both zebras and tracked. Alison

Thanks for the info. Now which is the biggest type of nerite out there?

I think it is the zebra but I am not sure. The smallest is the horned nerites ,they get the size of pea, but they are good for cleaning fine leaved plants because they are so small. Alison

Go with the horned nerite if you can find them, they're adorable.

I might get them for my 10 gallons. For my 55 I'm looking for the biggest nerite I can get
