I have two nerite snails. Lately, one is always riding the shell of the other one. I eventually seperate them and then turn around and they are attached again. What are they doing?

I'm sure they're fine. Even if they are mating, the water would need to be brackish for successful breeding. My horned nerite would ride my mystery snails. It looked like he was going into battle.

I figured that maybe they are in love

    Can we see a pic?

I always find mine in pairs, sometimes even 2 riding on one! I have been told that Nerite females tote their mate on their backs even when they are not mating.

Sounds reasonable to me. Unless they have intentionally separated for food, my male and female are almost always together, and it's not always mating, a lot of times she is just carrying him around.
