Will Nerite Snails eat BBA?

Some things say they will other say they won't.

Would otos be a better option?

Off to the shop shortly.

Black brush algae. I definitely think you'll have more luck with nerites than otos.

From my experience neither. Nerites will eat diatom and green spot algae. I think the only thing that'll eat bba is Siamese algae eaters, but those need fairly large tanks I recall.

My guppies eat BBA, despite being fed daily.

I've had a few nerites that took care of bba.

Interesting. What kind of Nerites do you have? My olive nerites don't touch bba at all.

A few yellow zebras and tigers. Gave them to a buddy who enjoyed them more after I balanced my nutrients, CO2 and light that stopped bba and greenspot growth.

Anyone ever tried doing a 3 day black out of the tank to get rid of BBA or any other algae?

I've tried it. It worked on to certain degree on most algae except bba and cladophora algae.

Does it harm the fish?

Do the fish not need the light?

The black out? No.

Not really. Some prefer darker.

Blackout will hurt plants. Use flagfish. (Florida?)
