Just got what appears to be a healthy black Nerite snail at Petsmart. How long do these guys live?

Well, I don't know the answer - I've been told around 2-3 years but then again, I have had 3 of my current Nerites for 4 + years now. These are the Tigers/Zebra ones.

The others i have range from 1.5 - 2 years ( Bumblebee horned and horned )

They seem very hardy. I used to keep mystery snails but they never lasted past 2 years. It was like right at the 2 year mark, they would die :(

I've a tiger one that is definitely 11 years old.

I'd advise only getting the ones that have perfect shells and keeping them that way.

Any damage only seems to get worse until the snail dies in my experience.

I know. I was going to say the same thing! I thought 4 years was good for mine. Glad to hear they can live longer
