Nerite snail 5 years old

I was looking at my betta's tank today and realized that the little nerite snail I had in there was really old. I've had him for at least 5 years maybe even 7 years. After a quick google search, I found they usually only live for a max of 3. Has anyone had a similar experience?

One thing is for sure, your care of the snail has apparently been more than adequate! Good job!

Haven’t been in the hobby that long, but I had a mystery snail live almost 2 years when their life expectancy is just 1. However, life expectancies are just the average. Animals in general usually live longer in the wild, you must just be doing it right!

Not getting eaten can play a huge role in a longer lifespan. I think prey animals usually live much longer in captivity than thier wild counterparts.
