Hi!

I am having a bit of trouble here, as my Neon Tetra - around 5 of them has white stuff on their body, I am sure it's not ich.

I've been using Pimafix and Melafix ( for 7 days, and now I have started to use them again, now it's up to the 3rd day), and keep maintaning the water in a good condition. I have also put them into a small tank and use Wardley Promethyasul for 2-3 days, as I see them not so happy there so I put them back (was few weeks ago.)

and later on I made a mistake that using a product called 'Fungus and fin rot cure' which contains malachite green..now my tank is green and stuck on the side..

I was trying to take photos, but they move too quick...so here is the video...

I don't very know if it's fungal or not, they all active and seemed happy...it has been more than a month now..

Would be appreciate if anybody can help me out! Thank you!

(I have post this on other forum but only one person replied and told me it is better to euthanize the fish? I don't want to do that, would there be a better option?)

Tank info

7 months old,

Fishes:

2 x Bristlenose Catfish
4 x Platys
8 x Neon Tetra (1 got very bad 2 of them seemed have fin rot??)
5 x Rummynose Tetra
Many Cherry shrimps
Many Drawin Shrimps
Many Ghost Shrimps

I've tried hard to keep the tank water clean, tried different meds...but no change..
It's cold weather here...don't know if this going to effect a little bit?

Take this with a grain of salt as I cannot see very well and have never personally encountered this myself, but it looks like a possible "Flexobacter" Infection from here. It couldn't hurt to google it and see what you think. It's also known as "Columnaris."

I take that back, I have a guppy case of the infection right now, but it is much more advanced and never had a chance to see it as the white cottony "fungus" that some people do.

One of my seven tetra seems to have it closer to its gills. It does seem similar. Any more detailed help?

I noticed two of my other neons have a silver belly. Are these ovulating females? OR another neon tetra disease manifesting itself?

In all honesty I really wouldn't know, I have never kept neons. It is best to let someone better qualified than myself to answer that question.

I only know about the bacteria that is currently in my tank lol.

A note on the kanaplex, after only a few hours, it seemed to give some improvent in my gourami. Her feeler looks less "fuzzy" and she's using it now.
