Neon tetra breeding

I've been doing some research on neon tetra breeding, and it seems pretty complicated. I kind of want to attempt it because I have a school of golden neon tetras, which aren't exactly common, and I want more, and there would probably be a market for them. So anyway, has anyone here tried it? Is there a great likelihood for success? Is it super hard, and not worth it? Any useful tips?

Thanks

I have had a few females seem 'swollen' with eggs. I thought I saw some laid one time but they were gone in the morning. My hungry live-bearers I suppose -_-

To get them to successfully breed might be difficult, but always one or two of mine seem significantly big. I say you would need their own tank with lots of reeds/grasses to let them survive though.

I've got najas grass and java moss growing, I can put them in my 10 gallon tank, which it empty most of the time.

I'm not sure about your tetras, but neon tetra fry need dark tank to grow.
Light will kill the fry. Use a blackwater tank, no light, and a spawning mop.

Good luck.

I tried breeding them earlier this summer.

It's fairly easy to get them to lay eggs, but like others have said, It's quite hard to actually get them to hatch.

The parents must be removed right away, as they will eat the eggs right after laying them. Then the eggs must me kept in total darkness until they hatch, then they must be slowly adjusted to light.

With the right amount of patients and the right setup, you should be able to do it
