Looking for an experienced rainbow fish keeper... I'm looking to stock my 33 gallon long with some praecox rainbows. Today, my LFS had some rainbows that looked like praecox but were just labeled "Neon Rainbowfish." I asked the girl if these were the same as the dwarf neons and she told me they were regular neon rainbows that grew to about 4". I didn't realize there were neon rainbows and dwarf neon rainbows, so i came home to do some more research. I can't find anything anywhere online regarding two different neon (dwarf and regular) rainbows. Are these indeed the same fish, just going by 2 slightly different names?

It's the one and only, and they don't grow to 4" very often.

Thank you - I had a feeling it was just an alternate common name, but I wanted to be sure!

Yeah it's weird, a lot of rainbows actually have multiple names.
