Neocaridina doing well in odd paramenters?

I have a 20H that has pretty hard water (roughly 700ppm TDS) and very low pH, but I took some cherry shrimp out of my 10g cherry tank and put them in there and they almost immediately colored up like nobody's business, like going from cherry grade to fire red (in addition to the females getting berried just as quick). Everything else in the tank is also perfectly healthy and showing no signs of stress or illness. Is this normal/safe?

the GH is 20°, the KH is 1-2°, and the ph is about 6.2 (from the tank they went in to)
I've yet to fully test the origin tank but the tds was 250ppm

Do you have water softener on your house? Or adjust this water?

Very unusual to see such high gh and low kh

How are your tanks so far apart in water perameters?

I just use tap water, no softener
I'd assume the disparity in parameters is because I set up the 10 gallon a few months ago and the 20H almost 2 years ago with very few water changes and frequent topping up, but there's so many plants you can't see the substrate so my nitrates never get high enough to be harmful
