Need some advice on a hardscape

Hey guys. So I think I'm pretty much settled on the placement of rocks and wood for my hardscape (suggestions would be great though), but I'm not entirely sure on how to do the substrate. I have about enough plant nutrient gravel (sort of a really dark brown) for 2/3 of the tank and I was thinking about using sand for the other 1/3. Any ideas about how I could work this in?

Looks like you have some beautiful rocks and driftwood. What size is your tank

I'm not very good at aquascaping. I have this need for my tanks to look symmetrical. Do you have live plants? If so what kind?

Don't have any plants yet, but I'm planning on getting some after I finish setting up the hardscape. Still not exactly sure what type to get though, but I'm thinking bacopa australis and some ground covers for starters. Maybe a few pogostemon helferI and red plants for variety as well. Personally not a fan of symmetricity as I like my tanks to have a natural feel .

That is a great looking aquascape! Can't wait to see it in the tank surrounded by plants

I'm a total newbie when it comes to live plants. So, I got easy beginner plants. Do you have experience with plants?

I'm no expert but I have had some easier plants for a while now, nothing too complicated though. The aquascape depends on what zeble is looking for or likes

Thanks! I'm hoping to have it set up by the end of this month.

Yeah I had two semI planted tanks (basically gravel with a some stem plants) a while back, but this is my first attempt at a proper planted tank with all the things like nutrient soil and fertilisers. Might have to stick to easy to manage plants as well though since I'm not sure about getting a CO2 input.
