Hello everyone, thank you for reading and if you comment I appreciate it.
I have a 20 g long. Its heavily planted with tons of jungle val which I pay change out eventually looking for a plant that wont take over the tank like val will I cant trim it or it all melts. I'm thinking guppy grass or a stem plant. But my main thing is I want a plant that all my fry can hide in.
Next my tank has 5 dwarf african frogs, 5 cherry barbs, 1 dwarf gourami the blue and red one, and 4 endlers that I may move to my pond so i can add more cherry barbs and i have snails and shrimp. I really want more cherry barbs and i would like new plant ideas. A plant that I can control better.

Well, unfortunately plants do grow and need to be trimmed or thinned out periodically. If you are looking for a slow growing plant you might try Anubias.

A plant that I have found useful for fry to hide in is Anacharis,...but it grows fast, at least in my tank.

Lastly, Cabomba is also a good plant for fry to hide in, but it also grows pretty fast.

I'm sorry, but I can't relate to your problem. "looking for a plant that wont take over the tank".

I'm looking for a plant that will simply grow... I would love a plant that wants to take over. :) The guppy grass and floaters I bought two weeks ago are already dead. I've also never had a stem plant survive. I've transitioned to emergent plants as they seem to do very well for me.

I did have some java moss that did well years ago. The fry loved to hang in and around it.

Anubias, as mentioned, as well as buce and java fern are slow growers. Not really plants for fry to hide in, but could be added to the mix.

Thank you I am looking for a fast growing plant. I have found when I trim jungle val the leaves rot and pollute the water. And then I get a massive algea bloom. I will definitely check out anacharis and cabomba. also with my stocking level would I be okay to add a few more cherry barbs I'm thinking maybe 2-3 more. But will how many plants I have my ammonia is zero my nitrate are 0 and nitrites are 5ppm. I'm thinking all my back ground plants will be a forest of 1 or both of the plants you mentioned and guppy grass and rotala.

I dont mind if the plant takes over that is kinda what I want. But it has to be a plant I can trim with out killing it. Something big and fluffy for the fry. I have a massive Filter set up I connected 2 canister filters. The first one does the actual filtering. And the big one I have is packed full of ceramic rings and lava rock. So I plan on getting a few more cherry barbs. And I would love a ton of stem plants like anacharis and cabomba and then a good carpeting plant

I have a 20 long and I'm looking to change things up I really want a good carpeting plant but not sure what will work best. And I'm looking for some really good stem plants that are great for fry to hid in. Because I don't have room for a breeding tank. So what I want is to be able to leave all the fry in the community tank. And have more of a chance of them surviving
Also what are some really good cold water plants I have a tub pond that stays outside year round. Temp in the winter is about 60. I want a good plant for fry to hide in. my endlers breed fast but not many survive do to the parents eating them.
