Need Help With 29 Gallon Scape

So, I currently have black sand and one big fake wood decoration as you will see in the picture below. (Ignore the breeder box) I was thinking of putting the decoration in the back right corner at an angle and putting some moss on it so it grows on it it and looks cool. I also want to get like a decoration and put it in the back left corner where the heater is for my corys to hide in. Plant wise I was thinking maybe some valisneria in the back and some amazon swords by the big decoration on each side? Don't know... Let me know what you think and feel free to add some suggestions. (Please put a suggestion lol)

Get 2 pieces of Malaysian driftwood and put them on each side, get 2 pieces of cholla driftwood and put them sideways, love the idea of Val as the back plant then maybe 4 amazon swords in the front, a nice little moneywort bunch in the back right (to cover breeder box), and some java moss.

I like the sound of that, but i'm still gonna wait for more people to see what there ideas are and what they think.

I really need more suggestions for this scape guys, i'm stuck. All I got is put vallisineria in the back. The driftwood on each side is a good idea but I was really hoping for more suggestions.

Personally it depends on the tank size, but I will have a center piece to the tank. Maybe add a little cave/hut of some sort then let the rest be plants. It sounds like you have a couple plants you already like, and I personally love amazon swords. They look great in the back and would really make your centerpiece stand out. Consider getting some Anubis or whatever else it is that doesn't get as large that you like for the front of the tank.

Yes, vallisneria is for sure going to be a plant I buy along with a few others. I also plan attaching some moss to the decoration to make it look not only cooler but more natural.

You just going to do the back glasswall full of vallisneria? That would certainly be neat and would hide any of the showing wires people tend to dislike. But the moss is a good idea, I'm a huge fan of moss. Recently just got into java and Christmas moss so I don't know how long it takes before it starts sprouting.

Yeah, I instantly thought about the moss when I got the decoration lol.

6FA86B36-7DB8-4CCD-91BE-9D6F5AA2576D.jpeg I would cover the back, either painted, commercial backdrop or black poster board.

I made tunnels with white quartz rock in one of my black sand tanks.

Take a longer, flat rock and silicone it to 2 other rocks making a tunnel. Here’s one I did with lava rock but the white quartz on black sand really pops. Sorry, no photo.

I would attach moss, then plant hair grass around it, make the backround plants rotala rufunda, madagascar lace, amazon sword, broad leaf ludwigia, rotala macranda colorata rotala Red foxtail

Yeah I was wanting to get amazon swords to. I like the tunnel idea and I think I might try it.

You can do it the easiest with a couple of pieces of slate but white quartz would look awesome with the black sand.

The valisneria my LFS was practically a baby so I got a good deal on water wisteria, like a really good deal. I do plan on getting valisneria for the middle behind the decoration as you see below and letting it grow out when I go to my LFS next weekend or during this week.

Are you going to use a background pic on the tank? If you are you should find something with some rocks on it if not you always have the option of painting it some say black or blue but you could do it in any color or even have a few colors as you go up or down the back of the tank
