Trying to sex this Honji....when I first got it was a light purple and really color full orange fins. It darkened up when it was getting harassed by the johani. I'm trying to have an all male tank...want to avoid the breeding. Can anyone help? ce8941be2feb28da5039980e518cd12c.jpg 17b944a2ec8687727ec2d0aa262010a0.jpg 46f0fda9f7a30a97c0fcaf4d5c7956cb.jpg 1e9f853fd5279958ec2f42f9c5aca757.jpg

Looks male to me, relatively long pelvic fins and bright egg spots points towards male.

Does it make sense the Johani would bully him? I assumed a hongi male would hold it down a bit better...so to speak. Lol

If you mean that blue fish front and center in the 3rd pick then it makes perfect sense that the hongi is getting pushed around by him. I've also had a fish like that, even with a bad eye he was still a jerk and I ended up rehoming him.

Rather than that blue one being a Johanni, it looks more like an elongatus of some sort. A johanni would have more horizontal black markings rather than vertical ones.
