Need Help On My New Green Severum

Hi, I got a Green severum from my friend, he is active and feeding well in pellets. It has 7 or 8 bands across his body, when I bought him he had only 1 band near his tail now all bands are visible he is around 3 - 4 inches in size, what would be his actual colour. I had seen some s where it is completely dark with no bands visible. The attached is for reference. I need to know if this is a actual colour? Thanks




What I thought about a green severum was like the one this attached , my friend said this Fish will become like. The one in this soon. Is it true ?

 

I guess it would depend on the fishes parents. You could ask your friend if they know the coloration of the parents.

 

The color and stripes will change as they get older. Some of my baby Severums look like yours and some are much darker and have more blue on their face. The male of the pair showed his lines quite well and my female is dark like the last picture.

 

I personally like the dark shade ones, I really wish this one changes to that, mine shows a light brown body, but at night I noticed they had dark body with black stripes, will have to wait for a week and watch. Your reply was very helpful I now have a hope to wait for lol thanks NikkI

He had no clue about his parents, I had convo on that with him I felt like he dumped that Fish on me that too for a higher price, came to know late lol, thanks for the reply friend

I hope it turns out the way you want it too Just so you know, when I got my female she was about 4” and she was a mustard color and I didn’t really like the looks of it but wished for the best and she turned out great Also they change colors with moods at least my female did that. She still gets lighter when I do my weekly water changes. My male only changed when he was spawning and that was gorgeous
