Need help on adding a couple more plants

Currently I have 2 Anubius Nanas, that are doing awesome! I have not realized how much they've grown until I looked at the ones in the LFS.

I am interested in some that grow tall for the background. Easy care with low light and will work either mounted on something or gravel substrate.

Thank you in advance

try vallisneria it is an easy low light plant that will send out runners and make new plants

Java ferns can grow tall and be mounted.

Vals won't work in a gravel substrate.

Maybe anacharis or hornwort

My corkscrew Val does great in gravel... Depending on the size of your tank my amazing sword is huge...

My tank is a 40 gal tall so I really want to try something that will fill up the back nicely. After seeing how my Anubius is doing, it's given me the confidence to try some more.

I see so many beautiful planted tanks, then you hear them talking about CO2...then I click on the next video. Gotta love YouTube lol, my wife thinks I'm nuts! Haven't watched TV on weeks...just watch aquarium stuff on YouTube lol

If you keep low light low tech plants like the ones mentioned above, you wouldn't need to add CO2. You can make a really beautiful planted tank without dosing Excel even.

Thank you el337, I say low light only because I have LED lights on the tank, basically 2 strips that clip on the front edge of the tank.

I love my java fern. hated the anacharis. ludwiga, hygro and java fern are in the back area of my tank. microsword and anubais in the front area to give different heights. my java fern propogates well- the ludwiga has been cut down and propgated a few times now so I have a curtain across half of the back of my tank and I'm about to have to do it again since they are starting to almost break the surface of the water

Before

After

My little ones were begging for this castle, so I went ahead and got more Anubius Nanas and Java Fern Windledor I think is the name of them and set it all up.

Also sporting a new Finnex 24/7 LED light bar (which I love and think is awesome!)

5 Glofish Tetras
4 otocinclus (had 5 but one didn't make it )

I still hesitant on planting in the substrate...small steps
