Need Help Figuring Out What's Wrong With My Blue Tetra

Yesterday I noticed one of my female blue tetras had buggy bloodshot eyes. Giving her a closer look I thought it might be popeye so I set up my 10 gallon hospital tank and dosed with Sulfaplex. This evening I noticed a blood spot on her side/stomach area. Her eyes appear to be improved but now this blood spot. The community tank water parameters are good...ammonia 0, nitrite 0, and nitrate between 20-40 (probably 25-ish), temp 76, pH 7.3
Only thing different in hospital tank is the temp is set at 78 and of course lower nitrates (I use a seeded sponge filter from the main tank).
I don't know if possibly she ran into the glass and cause some internal damage or this is connected with the eye issue. She did not have the spot this morning for sure. Any ideas?
Side note: Yes, she is heavy with eggs but not near as big as they sometimes get (they literally look like they might POP sometimes), and the pink at the base of the tail is normal.

Hopefully it's just an abrasion. If not, it might be "Septicemia".
I don't think there is a viable cure for Septicemia, but I don't believe it's always fatal.

Oh gosh...I hope it's not, but it does appear to be. I don't know what would've caused it. I couldn't see any wounds on it, and the popeyes seemed improved after 24 hours of Sulfaplex. My water parameters have been very stable for a long time. I keep up on my water changes and tank maintenance...I'm one of those who actually enjoy it.
I guess time will tell. I've read triple sulfa is a good option. Am I using the right antibiotic or should I switch? I have Furan 2 and Kanaplex on hand.

I've only had a few fish over the years exhibit symptoms like your pictured Tetra. In all cases the fish survived w/o meds. Septicemia symptoms can be caused by a virus as well as a bacteria. Meds won't cure a virus.

I see. Well I started the meds because of the popeye. The blood spot came on somewhere during the first 24 hours of qt. I'll do a water change tomorrow and see how things look and probably do 1 more dose of the Sulfaplex just for precaution. The eyes seem mostly normal this morning and the blood spot might be a little lighter...might just be my optimistic vision.
Thanks for the info.
