Need confirmation of my gourami’s sex again please. Lol

Ellebrius

First I bought 2 pearl gouramis and when they were old enough they were confirmed as 2 females. I then phoned my LFS and ordered one male pearl gourami I posted it’s picture and unfortunately what I thought was confirmed, another female. o_O
Now that the fish has grown I have my doubts and I would like to know what you think. Do I have a male or just a really beautiful female? :D

It's a male.

Ah hah! I thought so!!! Thank you so much! I will tone down my filter and let him build his bubble nest, I see dispersed bubbles every morning, and I also caught him locking lips with a female.
I don’t really want fry, I just want to let him do his thing and be happy. :)

Just so you know, if you didn't already, when pearl gourami males approach adulthood their dorsal fins become long, with jagged ends. Females are shorter, with smooth rounded ends. Also, the males analfins get the tassels, while females don't.

The third telltale is their throat. The males will turn orange, while the females won't.

Yes, thank you for the info. I knew about the dorsal fin but not the tassels. I’m really happy to know I have a male and I’ve named him Leonardo.
