Need bottom feeders?

So now that my 36g tank is cycled, I'm thinking of what next to get. So far, I have 2 mollies, 2 platies, and 6 guppies. I was thinking of adding some bottom feeders but wanted to reach out to see what your thoughts were. I've seen different people post different responses as to whether or not anyone should have bottom feeders. I was also thinking (not getting at the same time so as not to blow out the cycled tank) about getting a small school of either neon tetras or harlequin rasboras.

Thoughts?

I love the look of a school of neon tetras, I have a school of 20 in my 100g. I would suggest a few cory cats. They are absolutely awesome fish and keep your bottom pretty clean. I have panda cories in mine but they have many different species.

I like shrimp and snails to keep my tank clean (though currently that's all I have) Red cherry shrimp are my favorites and the nerite snails neither put out much waste but eat a lot of crud and keep the tank free of algae!

I like Trilis (corydoras trilineatus), aka False JuliI (some people hate the "false" part). Very cute and perky. They want to be in a shoal of 5 or 6 but will hang out with other cories if that there's only choice.

RCS will absolutely devour algae. I have a problem with brown algae due to silicates in the water, and when one of them lands on something, and decides to eat, it's cleaned completely off by the next day.

Good morning,

I always try and stock my tanks with top, middle and bottom feeders. This will help to prevent food waste to some degree.

I have 7 Emerald Cory Cats in my 265g tank. Great little fish but this type does get a bit bigger than some of the others. My largest is about 3" - 3.5" at the moment.

You may want to try some of the smaller varieties of Cory Cats such as Panda Cory Cats, a group of 5 or 6 perhaps:

Snails are a nice addition too. I have Nerite Snails and love 'em! Their eggs do not hatch in fresh water so you do not have to worry about babies every where, however, they still lay eggs that can be difficult to remove from glass and ornaments. They do lay eggs on everything! They go away on their own in time.

I'll be the odd one out and vote for plecos Tiny ones, like BNs or rubberlip.

I have 6 albino cories and they are all pretty active, pretty fun to watch. they roam the bottom and swim mid level all crazy like back and forth, and the occasional trip to top for air.

also have 5 kuhlI loaches that are pretty neat, though more active after the lights go off.
