Need an Anemone expert's opinion!

I have a Percula Clownfish and was wondering what kind of anemone I should get it. I need one that the fish will use and that will fit in a 95ga tank. ???

Percula Clownfish naturally host these anemones. Carpet Anemone (Stichodactyla gigantean), RitterI (Maroon) Anemone (Heteractis magnifica), Saddle Anemone (Stichodactyla haddoni). These are all very difficult to keep and require great amounts of light (metal halide). I've seen Percula clownfish associate themselves with Sebae (Heteractis malu) anemones, because this doesn't occur naturally, hosting is not guaranteed. Also I would not recommend adding an anemone to a tank until it has been running at least 6 months !

 

Thanks, I've had my tank for about 4 months now. I might get a skunk clown eventually because I've herd that they use the most anemones.

 

Have kept this anemone successfully for 4 years now in a 55 gallon reef tank.
It's 10-12 inches across.

What type of lighting do you have ? What are you feeding him ( the anemone )?

 

I feed chopped raw prawn or squid weekly using chopsticks (he's pretty aggressive) and as for lighting,
- 2 x Coralife SP 65W 10000K Bulbs
- 2 x Coralife SP 65W Actinic Bulbs
- 4 x 3/4W LED Lunar Lights

When I had the clown, I would drop the food in through the back of the tank and the fish would grab it and stuff it into the mouth of the anemone. Pretty cool to watch.

 

I've never heard of anyone keeping a carpet anemone with just Compact Fluorescent lights. Can you take more resent picture of the anemone ?
