Need a new lid and light source

I hate the stock lid on my aquarium and I need a light source that is separate from the lid to make water changes and maintenance a lot easier. The room that the aquarium is in is very dI'm even during the day. I was thinking of going lid-less but I've already had a fish jump out with the lid on and my son is two. He'll probably try to throw things inside the tank. I like the way the glass/plastic hinge lids look but the more I read about them the less interested I am. Too many issues with heat retention, light reflection, etc. I figured I could get one and grab a clip on led light for the back. Now I am thinking of a screen lid, but how would I use a clip on LED light? I suppose that I could cut and sand an area large enough in the screen frame to allow the light to clip but is there a better solution? I'm wondering if there are proper LED aquarium fixtures that have a stem and maybe the base slides under the aquarium to be held in place. I could try to slide the aquarium closer to the front of the stand as well to make room for a light in the back.

Rambling over. If anyone has any suggestions for a decent glass lid and light or a screen lid and light that will solve my problem please respond. I am fairly new to this and I just want the best option.

aquarium is a 20 high.

Thanks!

I think a screen lid will get rusty and drip into your tank. What kind was your stock lid?

Just a flat piece of plastic with the LEDs glued on the bottom side. It is just a pain to work on the tank with it. I have to hold it up with one hand and try to vaccumm, trim plants, etc with the other. Mainly because I need the lights to see what I am doing. Sort of why I was looking for an alternative that separated the lights and lid.

What size is your tank? You can buy hoods but they are pretty pricey. And they are not LED.

It is a 20 High. I like the sleeker look of a flat cover rather than a hood. Maybe I'm just stuck with a glass cover? Hmmm
