upload_2018-6-11_14-25-32.pngWorst lighting in the world but here it is. Yes this is a 2 gallon tank but it has my rescue betta who was in a divided 1 gallon tank with two other males. I had him in a 5 gallon with filter and heater and he got worse then ever. In here he swims happy and LOVES to lay on the leafs. Every time I look he is sleeping on a leaf. I believe he is old. Anyway This is my first attempt to make it "natural". a little to much plants but I'm going to take some out today.

Thanks for rescuing this betta, he’s safer with you now
The tank looks great! This is your only natural betta tank?

I like to keep my tanks to what they would look like in the wild, or just really natural.
Here’s an example of “my idea” of natural.

There's nothing wrong with using fake plants to achieve a natural look. I try to use real plants, but they take so long to grow in I use fake plants as filler in the mean time.

Example: My 29 Gallon Sorority/Community

Foreground Plants - real
Background Plants - fake
Floating Plants - real and fake mixed

(Your tank looks really nice)

I really like your tank set up! I’m sure your little betta is very happy in there Nothing wrong with using fake plants This is my current tank set up. These are some of my very first live plants. I switched from fake to live after my betta tore his fin on a fake one.

So pretty! Every time a aI'm for a natural tank it ends up not looking natural... Its so hard. But I never ever use those weird sponge bob decor garbage.

Well these may be the only sharp fake plants I own. His fins were terrible when I got him and never grew back the proper way they should have.

I’m sure your betta likes the real plant much more anyway! The fake ones can be risky you just have to be careful with them with bettas and you’ll be okay. If it will snag nylon pantyhose it’s dangerous for a betta. If not then it should be fine. I learned to tell the difference without needing pantyhose, I can tell the difference by touching it usually.

It looks gorgeous! Nothing wrong with using fake plants if you can find what you need or want. Whenever I try with fake plants I can never find nice looking realistic ones lol

Really? They don't seem like they would be from Walmart.

They were awesome! But sadly they went on clearance and never came back... So I bought like 5bags. They aren't the worst walmart quality but not as bad as the ones I have to hot glue back together every couple months....

Lol I hate it when things you like never return .it's really annoying. Yeah I've had a few that fell apart quickly or fish literally got stuck in between the fake branches
