Natural color shrimp & Color shrimp mix?

Hello, I have a about 10-20 cherry red shrimp. I’ve never purged to maintain the red color, so I have a mix of brown, translucent with some red, 1 red-orange, and maybe 1 or 2 black shrimp.

If I add a 5-10 different color shrimp (yellow, blue, etc.) will they breed a significant amount of different colored shrimp than I currently have or is it bound to stay relatively the same?

I think for a few generations you'd have wider variety of colours, but as different colours intermix, your population will steer towards the wild types, either dark or transparent. For long term effect, you'd be better off adding some more red shrimp, to increase the frequency of the red gene in the population.

To keep them red you have to cull the other colors. Any color mixed with red will revert to brown offspring. Start a cull tank.
