Well he is here and he is really nice but really scared and won't come out too often so I had a dickens of a time getting pictures. I had to use the lens and I have not done that before so forgive the quality. It is the photographer not the fish... He is so LITTLE!!

Yes we all have fine looking bettas and don't they know it... ;D. He had an early supper and went to bed early after the ordeal of making the trip half way around the world since Saturday. He had a one night lay over in Denver and the FedEx man delivered him this afternoon at around 2pm. I was on pins and needles all day...

He is a little under an inch without his fins and the tank he is in is only for the first 2 or 3 weeks as he is only in an Eclipse 3 and needs to go into the big tank. He will be living in the 5 gallon that Alexander is in right now I think and Alex may go into the Eclipse 12 since he is the older brother and should have the big bedroom first, don't you think? The only other option will be to leave Alex where he is and put Nate in the 12 gallon tank. That is a real possibility as Alex does love his otos and I am afraid he would miss them if I moved him. Decisions, decisions......

Nate has eaten NOTHING but live daphnia since he started eating actual betta foods instead of baby starter food so I am kind of nervous as I believe I have a real picky eater here and I am not going to start keeping live daphnia for him..

Well he is not going to be hard to love that is for sure so I guess I have some interesting days ahead trying to get him to trust me...

Thanks for all the good wishes.

LOL sounds like you had a exciting day.

One of my fish eats live daphnia aka brine shrimp correct and that's it, it's a pain to keep breeding them all the time for him.

No daphnia is a different animal than brine shrimp. They are small critters that live in still water. You can buy Freeze dried Daphnia as well as Brine Shrimp, and Bloodworms but I am not sure of the suitability of it for a staple meal food so he will learn to eat pellets and bloodworms, has already in fact.

He is starting to learn all about his world today but a scared little thing he is. It is going to take some doing to get him to settle in. No more pictures of him until he is a bit more settled. He freaks whenever anyone looks at him so I am only putting the light on for about 5 hours a day and I try to stay out of the room as much as I can and I am quiet when I do go in. The only quality time we have is mealtime and he seems ready to put up with me then...

8) Nate is such a handsome betta, and so tiny! He is going to be a very spoiled little guy, as all your bettas are. Congratulations on getting another very lucky fish.
