Name Of Your First Fish Store You Visited Or Bought Fish From

There are some pretty neat names of fish places out there. I remember my first pet store that I bought fish from. It was called Pets and Stuff. There was only two women who worked there and they were super nice and helpful. I use to go there mostly on Thursday because that's when the new fish came in. Sad when they went out of business. It will remain my favorite fish store. Now my choice is only a Petsmart that is local. What is the name of your first/favorite fish store and information about it.

For years the only place I had was the local garden centre which had a small and badly run pet bit. The only livestock I ever got from there were 2 goldfish (who both died within a week) and 1 betta (who was pretty sick and ended up dieing 6 months later). I actually think they're a bit dodgy, they have the most random stock. Every single one of their fish are unhealthy and the staff couldn't care less. Dead fish in all the tanks. I knew one of the staff there before he started working for them. He has terrible stocking (common goldfish, pleco, angelfish and more in a 5 gallon tank) and is really bad with the fish.

Just over a year ago a pets at home opened. Sure they're not great and the staff are clueless but the fish are a bit better. A lot more limited on livestock but more reliable at having stuff in. The staff know me quite well and are friendly which is more than I can say for the garden centre.

I wish we had a good fish store locally. As it is I have to drive over an hour to the nearest maidenhead aquatics.

I have one down the road called fintasia. They are amazing. Family run business and they are very knowledgeable in fish keeping.

The first fish store I bought my own fish was at Oceanside Aquariums. The two brothers who run it are pretty knowledgeable and exceedingly kind. There have been several times where they have given me fish food, plants, and even an aquarium hood once for free or reduced cost. They also have a police where if your fish dies within the first week they will refund you or let you pick a new fish.

This is, of course, not counting fish I got at the fair or from friends.

First actual fish store I went to was called Columbia Aquarium. Run by an old German couple, and they had some of the most interesting fish. They also had their own breeding room for odd fish, and it was a big deal to be invited back there to see the breeders.

The first good fish store I went to was called Crystal Palace Aquarium (not in England, in Sydney). They do give awful advice i.e I saw a family go in & purchased a 2-gallon tank w/ a common pleco, betta & 4 platies. No filter or heater.

Their stock is good & it's relatively cheap though.
