Mystery Snails Escaping

I have mystery snails in 3 of my tanks. One mystery snail in two separate tanks keeps crawling out! I have found them both, one behind the tank, one on the outside of the glass, and they were fine, but my question is......is this normal? Why are my snails trying to run away?!

If they are trying to lay eggs and there is no room between the and top of the tank they will climb out. Also if the water parameters are off, then they will also try to get out. Could you list your current water parameters on both tanks. Ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and PH.. Alison

It doesn't look like a problem with the water. Can you leave the water level down about an inch and a half for a while to see if they are trying to lay eggs? They will lay them on the inside above the water line in a clutch or under the cover if you have one. Alison

Trying to lay eggs would be my guess. I have my girls in a tank with a lid for that reason, but my boys have about a 2-3 inch gap at the back of their tank that they could easily use for an escape route if they wanted to. (Right now, with the warmer weather coming it, I'm running it with no lid). They don't go any farther out than to breath or turn around if they went up a little too high.
