Mystery snails escapes

I found my yellow mystery on my bedroom floor today. Luckily the cats or dogs didn't find him first. He was fine back in the tank as well. I have ADF's in this tank so it's pretty well covered except a tiny area between the HOB and the glass lid.

Any tricks to keep snails from getting out up the filter?

And....water parameters are fine and the water level is lowered a few inches for potential egg laying.

I have baby mystery snails so I too have trouble keeping them in the tank, but twice as worse. Some people use duck tape, but I just use a rag and fill in the empty spaces where the filter is for the tank to my adult mysteries. For the other tanks I use saran wrap to cover the openings. Hope this helps to keep your little escape artists in their tank.

You can try that Press n Seal wrap to cover the holes. It's not super sticky but stays on nicely compared to saran wrap.

Ooh I'll have to try this too. I have a versa top but the hole was cut for a different filter before I switched to a canister. I found a Nerite on the floor under the bar today. I was sure he was dead as I have no idea how long he was down there (was looking for a missing guppy). Thankfully he was still alive and seems fine but now I'm worried about escapees too! Buying some press and seal!

After finding my guy on the floor again this morning I have put box tape over the spaces....I will report how well it remains in place!

I've had good luck covering the openings with craft mesh cut to fit, one end will rest on the lip of the tank rI'm and just leave a little overhang on the other parts to sit on the glass. Super cheap and you don't have to worry about potentially toxic chemicals etc.

My one 10 gallon at work has a large enough opening for this. I used screen and secured it with binder clips....silly but it works well. I may find more screen and do this at home as well.
