Hello everyone, I would like to know a simple recipe to make "snail jello". My snails would probably enjoy it, and when there are baby snails I will definitely need to know how to make it.
Also, I am trying to cut back on how many algae wafers I feed my snails, and if I put some algae-coated rocks and stuff from my other P.S.T will they not eat as many wafers and still get enough nutrition?

Thank you!

Snails it anything, they aren’t picky. I add lettuce, crushed up fish flakes, algae wafers, calcium powder (I have soft water, so I use some, but it’s optional) and really anything else in my jello. You can try to add different ingredients, and see what the snails like, and what they don’t.

Okay, but how do I make it? Is it cooked? Do I need a mold?

Go onto the internet and look at some videos about how to make it, after you know the basics, you can choose your ingredients. Just type in ‘how to make snail jello’

I usually just kind of mix all my ingredients together, and blend them, and add hot water and gelatin, and refrigerate.

You can find some good recipes on the internet.

I just looked, and found some recipes. Even though I can do my own food ingredients, will I still need plain gelatin powder? Thanks!

Yes, you need gelatin powder, but you can choose what’s in the jello!

After forming it into pieces, I put mine in the freezer. Remember to cover it up though. It'll dry up in the freezer (I learned the hard way)

I refrigerate. But I always make it in small quantities, and it lasts about a week in the refrigerator before it’s all gone!

Can you use flavored jello? I have a bunch of random flavors but no unflavored

I heard if it's in the freezer it'll last a long time and you can just take out a couple cubes to thaw and feed.

No, I don't think favored jello is safe for them.

Unflavored gelatin is very, very inexpensive. Flavored jello usually contains sugar or (worse) artificial sweetener as well. It also can contain petroleum products as part of the coloration--many artificial colors (red dye #, etc) are made from the by-products of oil production, and have been linked to cancer, health and behavioral issues in humans...do you really want to give your snails that? Besides, in my experience, the land snails won't touch it Smart mollusks...

Things are getting worse every day. He is acting normal but his legs are coming out where the split started. He is eating and moving all around the tank, but I feel helpless and terrible for him.
