Mystery Snail With Spikes On Shell

Has anyone ever seen mystery snails with spikes along the front of their shell's opening? I have 5 breeding adults, and my oldest clutch are about pea sized now. Some, but not all of them, have noticeable spikes protruding from the front edge of their shell.

I'm not at all worried about it, just curious. Will they all have these at some point? Is it just a stage of shell growth? Will they keep them through to adulthood?

I'm officially intrigued! Haha

Here's a photo so you can see what I mean.

just a one in a million snail! mystery snails don't typically have spikes, so in this case you have a very rare mystery snail! congrats

Crazy! Several from this clutch have them. They look cool, they're the **** mystery snails of the tank. Haha

It's weird, after I posted this I was checking the older clutch, and I'd say 90% have the spikes that I can see. I'm really curious to see whether they keep them into adulthood or not!

A lot of them have it as babies. They grow out of it so when you buy them at the store they’ve already grown out of it. With mine it seems about 30% have spikes when they’re young. It’s cool though!
