Mystery snail Sickness

I have 2 mystery snails Quarantining in a 10 gallon tank. I decided to do this after it seemed like they gave one of my fish black spot diseases. They are not doing so hot for some reason, they're both curled up in the corner out of their shells not moving. I'm pretty sure they're still alive, but I don't think they'll live much longer like this. I just cleaned their tank the other day and they looked a lot better but now they're doing the same thing... So I had them quarantined for several weeks and my fish still has the spots on her fins, so i don't know if i should just put them in the main tank or if that will make my fish worse if the parasites can transfer to the snails and back to the fish... Advice?

How did bird droppings get into your tank to pass on black spot disease?, or am I confusing myself with something else,
Pictures would be handy

So, i got one of the snails from petco and the other from aquatic arts and this is a picture from a few months ago. Everywhere I've researched said that if you have black spots on your fish, it's probably from a snail and you should remove the snail from the fish tank and quarantine it so the parasite cant complete the lifecycle and dies out. This isn't a great picture, but basically its on the outer rim of both of her front fins and a little on her top fin. I sort of assumed it was from the snails but it could be something else. I honestly think that if i put the snails in the main tank they may get better, since they were doing so well in the main tank before. also i have an ivory colored one and its sort of turning orange if that helps. before they were doing this, they were sort of on the glass at the highest point closest to the surface they could get.

The fact you think its been passed by the snails makes me think that any treatment should involve the snails so I'd put them back, I'm by no means up to speed with black spot disease but know it involves snails and birds so its possible your snails came in from the wild infected.
Hopefully someone else will come in but the raised scales on your fish suggests Dropsey

Okay, I'll put them back in the main tank. Mostly b/c I know black spot disease doesn't harm fish much, but if the snails died, my little sister would be very sad O.O I dont think they have dropsy, their scales seem to lay completely flat and i also had the snails with the fish for months before I decided to quarantine the snails

It may be just the way the photo was taken, I hope your snails recover, they don't seem to like that tank for some reason and hanging out of their shell for so long is worrying, check them regularly once they're back in, if they die get back to petco for more before your sister finds out

Yeah, that sounds like a plan, I hadnt thought of that to be honest lol. One more question... Is it possible that they just reached their full life span? We got one in early july and it was about an inch long and the other was pretty close to the same... i know they live about a year but i don't know how old they were when i got them

Could very well of been, a lot of people over look that and on average I think most dont reach full lifespan, keep touching the soft body every day for a reaction, if they die theres not a smell like it

Okay, so a little bit of an update, when I put them in the tank they went in their shells and didnt move at all, and my fish sort of harassed them a little (which I'm sure would be fine if they were healthy BUT...) so i cleaned the water and moved them back and now they've climbed to the top of the tank on the side. i also put in some food, so i don't think the issue is that they're hungry, I think they just don't like the water quality for some reason, even after a water change... I'll try to get some water readings to report.

Move some water from the fish tank for them
I just remembered that the main tank used to have plants in it, (but i took them out recently) and i dosed that tank with seachem excel regularly and excel has calcium in it, but since i moved them is when i started having problems... Could it be because of calcium deficiency?? I'm not using any supplements right now (which, i realize now, is wrong) If so, what should I do, and is it too late to save them since its been several weeks without a significant calcium source?

As most people know from pest snails, most snails can easily survive sudden large changes in conditions. They don’t usually like these changes, however. Mysteries especially. I find certain individuals to be very dramatic when there’s something they don’t like happening, even if it’s something minor. Is there different substrate in the qt tank? Is the flow stronger or weaker than they’re used to? Mysteries also tend to react to ammonia like this. Is there any ammonia or nitrite in the tank? Is there anywhere for them to hide? Try adding a little piece of cuttlebone into the tank for them to rasp on. If they are deficient in calcium, that can help them. If they don’t start doing better after this, just move them back to the main tank, but while you’re feeding the fish. The fish will be distracted by the food so they won’t attack the snails. They will still be in feeding mode afterwards, though, so watch out for that.

My Gold Inca, Garry, was very active, cruising the sand substrate and sides his 8 gal. Biorb aquarium. He has almost doubled in size over the past 3 months I've had him. Suddenly, about 2 weeks ago, he became very lethargic, wasn't eating much and spending some time half out of his shell and not moving. I think from my research that my water parameters are good, as well as what I'm feeding him. Temp. - 77 - 78,
GH - 120 ppm, KH - 80 ppm, PH - 7.5, Nitrite - 0 to 0.5 ppm, Nitrate - 0 ppm
He was the only snail in the tank. I floated him at the surface of his tank water in a small container, put him on his side and covered him with just enough of his tank water to almost cover his shell. (suggested on this forum) He almost immediately seemed to come to life and started cruising around the small container. I acclimated him back into his 8 gal. and he seemed to be his old, healthy self again. That only lasted about 3 - 4 days. I decided during those 3 days to add a blue mystery snail to see if that kept him more active and wanting to cruise around to get to his food now that there was someone else to eat it, lol. The blue Mystery, Blueberry is about a third the size of Garry. She (?) has been in the tank for about a week and is very inactive. She stays in her shell most of the time and occasionally I see her stuck to the plants or tank decorations. Now Garry has been at the surface, almost half out of water for most of the day, and I have two very lethargic snails. I feel like it has to be something with my water but everytime I do a partial water change, the parameters seem good. Looking for advice from the snail gurus. :)
