Mystery snail keeps tipping over

Why would my mystery snail keep tipping over? I put him right side down and he comes out of his shell and moves his body around a bit then just tips back over until I fix him again. He has been doing this for about a week. I fix him 2-3 times a day. If I don’t help him then he just lays there and doesn’t move until I help. None of my other mystery’s are doing this

How odd, I've never seen that behavior before. How old is he? The only theory I have is that he's reaching the end of his life span. But, that's just a theory.

Not old at all. Like 5 or 6 months. The size of a dime. I bought from a breeder in my state

Have you seen the snail flip over? Or are you just finding him flipped over? Many snails will crawl up the glass, rock and plants and just release from the object and settle to the bottom, ending up however they land. They can sleep in pretty much any position. Place him in a spot near the front of the tank that you can easily observe. If he stays there for several days without moving, pick him up and sniff him to see if he is dead. If he does not smell, put him back. Most snails can right themselves if they get upside down. Some snails can even trap air in their shells and float to the surface.

I have seen him flip over. I’ve had in the front of my tank for a few days now to watch and he keeps flipping over. He will come out of his shell then kinda grip onto a pebble then will eventually tip over before he crawls anywhere, I know he’s not dead cuz I see him come out and go back in and stick to rocks

Since he's so young, if it's not a water parameters issue, maybe he's going through a phase of lethargy? Just a shot in the dark.

I put him in a bucket shortly after I made the original post. And about 45 minutes ago I saw him snailing along towards a piece of snello I placed in there to entice him and he was acting completely normal... weird. I’m going to keep him in there overnight and see how he is in the morning

Just checked on him, he was tipped over again and his body was out, not dead though. I picked him up(he retracted back into his shell) and I put him back right side down

Me too. I just can’t figure out what is wrong with him...

I give up! I posted the other day about my mystery snail won’t stay up right. He keeps ending up upside down and I don’t know how, I’ve been flipping him back up right multiple times a day, I give up, I really hope he makes it through this but I can’t keep reaching in to save him

Do you have any larger fish that are knocking into him on the glass and making him fall?

It happens in my tanks all the time. Usually 1 of my many plecos send them falling.

No fish is doing it. The snail will just be sitting on the gravel and for no reason too over

He’s peeking back out. He isn’t fully coming out though, his trap door is still kinda under him. Like he’s standing on the edge of his trap door

He retracted now and is sitting normal. Hopefully he stays up right on his own

All i can think is "go home, mystery snail, you're drunk!" Maybe wrong line of thinking, but there it is.

That’s what it seems like, he try’s to walk but just falls over and can’t get up

I was just thinking like when people have something off in their ears and get vertigo or very precarious balance, if something like that was going on with the snail? But i don't know what kind of thing they have going to let them know they are upright.

Mystery Snails don't tip over on their own. Is it having trouble gripping the gravel or something? Maybe a water current?

No water current where he is. He will partially come out of his shell then fall over
