The momma is Chestnut(pictures above) and the daddy is Magenta(picture below).
Since they are my mating pair I named them Gary(pink snail) and Ms. Tuffsey. (Hopefully somebody gets it lol)

I don’t have a magenta but I’d love to see the cross of Gary and a gold!

Thank you! I've hatched 4 clutches from them in hopes that I might get lucky and beat the odds with at least one magenta baby instead of all chestnut lol.

Lol. I grew up on it and my kids love it Haha.

Yes the odds are pretty much all chestnut since stripes are dominant.

So at least one of the babies is 1" already, and it looks like two more are just a little bit smaller! I'll be moving them into the main tank next week probably, the father snail passed away, and the mother snail (gold) is starting to show signs of old age, I'd guess she has about 2-3 months left, I'm leaning towards 3.
Oh, and this is dumb of me, but I forgot I gave my sister some of the babies to take care of, and I'll be going over there tomorrow to compare size and coloration and all, lol. I can't believe I forgot, she called me and was just like "when do you want the snails back, it's been a while"

Alright so these snails are smaller, darker, and may (I don't really remember lol) have gotten stripes at a smaller size than mine did. Also, they desperately need some calcium...
Sorry for bad quality pics, I'll be going back anyway to at least drop in a ton of cuttlebone.

Yes it's weird the way different colored snails grow. I have a couple clutches from a cross of gold and chestnut. The results were mostly gold with a few black a few brown and a couple ivory. The folds are huge compared to the ivory babies and they came from the same clutch.

Yeah lol, that's pretty cool. These are from the same clutch as some of the other ones I have, just they're significantly smaller and their coloring is already darker. They were fed less and didn't have as much calcium as the others, so maybe a mix of the two

Okay, update:
The three biggest are about 3/4", and I decided to move them into my 60 today.
So the two thumbnail pictures are of them with and without the flash. The next five or however many are of one receiving a less than kind welcome, lol

Random update:
Yet another is found in an "aquarium" that it isn't supposed to be in, lol. This is my little blackworm culture, hope the little fellow didn't have a chance to eat too many

Double post because I want more pics! Lol.
1: the first baby!
2: size comparison with Mom (I was trying to show it to someone else who thought the snail was dead because of the white part, that's why I labeled it "tail"
3: you can see the third baby, so far they are all tan/yellow with black speckles and white bodies
4: the babies this morning, the clutch was like this since yesterday but they didn't really move
5: the 27 in the holding tank
6: the 42
7: the container after I helped get most of the 42 into it.
8: the presumed happy couple, lol
9: the other two clutches, I placed a damp paper towel under one, just to see if it helps, that one is about a week old now, but was four days I think at the time of the pic. The other was brand new, not even a day old.
The wild type looks more like dark foot purple to me as I have had a bath of baby's same colour where the day was light foot magenta and the mother was blue shell

No, I found out the hard way that they eat the live ones, first I tried to start the culture in the baby snail tank... it was an immediate massacre... oops

Cool! The babies are ending up a lot lighter than the dad was, but still mostly brown

Out of curiosity, how many could I keep in my 60g? Currently I have the mom and four babies (the three I put in however long ago are now over an inch, almost full grown!), my goldfish, and soon to have another goldfish. I have a small handful of ramshorns, only about eight or so, and 3 MTS (probably more, lol).
So stocking wise, what's a good number?
And I am thinking they have a bit more purple, the stripes on them look almost purple, but they have nice shiny bronze shells. The lighting on the 60 is bad, I can't get a good pic

Well that’s a tough question considering in just a couple months both your mts and ramshorn population could explode into hundreds on both sides. If you have just the 2 gold fish in a 60 though then id say you could get away with at least 10 adults if not more. This is just my opinion but with frequent water changes that should be a perfectly fine. You’ll be able to tell when there is an overstocking issue. You’ll see deaths in your ramshorn and mts population as a result of starvation due to the feeding competition with the larger mysteries.

Great, thanks! And unfortunately/fortunately I don't think there will be a population explosion anytime soon... I started with four ramshorns almost six months ago, lol. My golfish has a tendency to eat the baby snails, and almost none of them survive to adulthood, rip

Yeah you know what, I didn’t even think about that lol. Gold fish and cats are known for that .
