So, I've had two mystery snails in my tank for quite a few months now and neither have shown much interest in one another. I tried sexing them, it was very difficult and I came to the conclusion that they were both females. However, I recently purchased another one (I can't stop myself, they're so adorable) and it seems as though one of my older snails has attempted to breed with the new one a few times. I believe now that my two older snails are both males! However, I'm curious, is it possible for snails to misgender one another? If my older snail has tried breeding with the new one, does that guarantee that they are opposite genders? Is there anyways they've accidentally made a mistake and have tried breeding with a male? I want to know if I should 100% be expecting eggs from my new snail or if perhaps my snail made a mistake? It's a bit of a silly question but I don't want to get my hopes up that I've gotten myself a breeding pair only to be disappointed haha.
