In a ten gallon with a betta, I want to do a few nerites and.... a mystery snail. I have an emotional attachment with Mystery snails, and I would do nerites first to get my betta used to the idea. Also, if I just have one Mystery snail, will it reproduce? I don't want a snail overpopulation.

You could add 2-4 Nerite snails to a 10 gallon, I'm not so sure I'd add the mystery snail as well since there'd probably end up being a shortage of food for the nerites. I'm not too sure about the compatibility of the 2 snails but maybe just add 1 or 2 Nerites and then your mystery snail later on, once you see your betta plays nice?

And no, Mystery snails are not asexual.

you need both genders for them to reproduce. I love mystery snails because they just full of live and personality lol, although I also like nerites but not as much as I like mystery

they are compatible with each other, mystery snails are not much of an algae eater so there is always enough for the nerites.

They still eat it though and that's enough to affect the nerites. Unless Emmy has a strong light or a long light cycle she should be careful not to add too many nerites.

maybe, ive never had issues with food with the two together. but it is always good to feed snails more then just algae especially mystery snails. I normally have my lights on from 6am-6pm which is usually gives me enough algae for the nerites and I feed my mystery wafers every few days along with some veggies everyday

Yeah it is good to feed them a variety, though the issue lies in the fact that Nerites are pretty picky and don't really take to other sources of food. Are your Nerites munching on your wafers? You're pretty lucky if they are !
