Mystery invert?

justkush

Hey can any one help me to identify this thing?
It was in some substrate I got from a co-worker of my gf who shut their tank down. They don't know what it is either. Small hole in one end and you can hear something inside when you shake it. I'm 99% it's dead because she said she lightly bleached the substrate and it had been sitting in a pail for a week. I re washed it all and came across this when separating larger pebble from the smaller substrate.
It looks like the bottom round part opens?
It's not like a snail shell I've ever seen.
Anyone have any ideas?
Since this was moved by someone, do they have an idea of what it is?

I'm not 100% convinced it was a living thing with that shape. But the world is full of all sorts of strange creatures.

Can you post a pic of the bottom if it?

Its not an invert. Id guess either plastic or some type of plant bulb.
