Mystery and Nerite Snail Tank?

I have an extra 3.5 gallon tank hang around. I love watching my snail roam around my betta fish tank. I was thinking about starting a tank just for snails. Probably get some mystery snails and some nerite snails. I was wondering if these snails would get along and how many I could fit in a 3.5 gallon tank if there were no other fish in the tank. I was also wondering if anyone had a good care guide on how to care for a snail only tank. Thank you for your help.

I love mystery snails but I would not recommend them for a snail only tank because they produce a ton of load. If you are doing a snail only tank they will be happiest with a high ph 7-8 range and hard water (you can raise you water hardness with cuddle bone) and feeding blanched veggies. Good luck! I recommend nerite snails. Whatever you do don’t get pond snails or MTS they will take over your tank in a week.

Thank you very much! How many do you think would fit in a 3.5 gallon tank?

I think if you stuck with just one mystery (maybe two at most) in a tank that size, you would be ok, if you stay on top of cleaning and water changes. I have a couple mysteries and I absolutley love them, but they are cruisers! Personally, I wouldnt want one in less then 10g. They are as messy as a fish.
And yeah, nerites and mysteries get along fine. As for nerites, just one in that size tank. They aren't known for eating prepared food so they need a constant supply of algae or they may starve.

would say about 5 nerite snails in a tank that size at the max, they only get around an inch from what I have seen (and the ones I have) if you have live plants and Alger wafers I wouldn’t worry unless you start to see shell problems. Good luck! I would say even rescuing some ghost shrimp 2-3 they clean up great and I absolutely love them, they thrive in the sameness condishions as the snails.
