Mysis shrimp feeding help

My fish love the frozen mysis shrimp. I thaw it in water then put a bit at a time in the tank. Problem is that it goes every where and it is pretty gross when you see one that didnt get eaten float by a day later. Any thoughts on how to feed them in a more contained way??

Could you be putting in too much? I've never fed mysis shrimp but if it's anything like brine shrimp, it gets gobbled up by my fish pretty quickly. After less than a minute, it's all gone and I don't see any floating bits.

Turn the filter off when feeding.

Well they eat it all normally but sometimes a piece or two just floats around and it missed by the fish. Especially in my 55 that only has congo tetras right now because they are super skittish still and basically jump out of the tank every time I come near it. I think the turning off the filter think might be a good idea.

I was just hoping there might be a mesh bag or something like I have seen that people use for blood worms.

That is a good idea then it won't swirl around so much. I think that is a big part of the problem. Also...what cichlid is that in your avatar photo? It is pretty...

EDIT - sorry about the double post. My computer often has a life of its own which is really irritating.

Be careful with the turning off of the filter. I've heard of many people forgetting to turn it back on and some of their BB dying off. I don't turn mine off and my fish go after all of it.

Yeah, I've seen those mesh cones that they use for bloodworms. I don't know if it'd work with the size of mysis/brine shrimp.

Yeah and I am forgetful...I blame my kids. My brain will not fully recover.

Well normally what I do is I get a teaspoon and I add a tsp and wait until it is all gone then repeat until it seems like they are done eating which is normally way about the 1 minute mark or so. So the problem is the last tsp they some times do not finish. I guess I can just cut back and stop before they seem to be dying down.

I think it'd be a good idea to cut back then if it seems they can't get to all of it.

Alright thanks! I will try that.
