55 Gallon Tank My Two Year Aquarium Journey

Haydeno

This is just a post for me, to share my aquarium owning journeys. Over the two years of fish keeping I have collected 3 aquariums so far; two 55g, and one 15g. The first was a 55g long (pic 1) that I didn’t completely know what I was doing with but I managed to keep most of the fish alive for several months before selling them. This is the tank where you’ll really get to see my progression in the hobby as you’ll see it getting more natural and less of an eye sore in pics 1-3. It finally settled on a community setup with 15 cherry barbs, a dwarf gourami, a German ram, a half banded spiny eel, 2 clown pleco, I think 10 otocinclus and pest snails. Next came my second 55 gallon with 6 pea puffers and some cherry shrimp. In this one I was really trying to learn some aquascaping tips and plan out the setup before I started instead of learning on the job. So I got better substrate for my plants, thought about what kind of plants, wood and rock id use to fill space, etc. it turned out very well and colorful from the start but it’s had some algae problems that are getting better. Right now my hardest tank (pic 4-6.) Finally my most recent and current favorite tank, the 15g blackwater with a betta and neon tetras and shrimp. Pretty basic but it’s just so enjoyable. Yet again I planned on the scape a bit except it was a much more loose plan. All I knew was betta, black water and lightly planted but it turned out very well still.

Wow, so cool. the tanks look awesome. I think my favourite tank is your pea puffer tank. Ive kept fish for 13 months now, and already have 4 tanks. I guess MTS is kicking in more with me, lol. I will post some pics of my tanks tomorrow when the tank lights are back on.

sorry for not sending the pictures any earlier, I totally forgot about what I said earlier. First picture is my 10 gallon red cherry shrimp tank. its been set up since November now. its doing great.

second pic is my 15 gallon iwagumi tank. as you can see, it hasn't been set up for long. it used to be another shrimp tank, but I got bored of it. I wanted to send it to the IAPLC, but it ended up being too late for that. I think it looks awesome. third picture is the old 15 gallon shrimp tank that is now the iwagumi tank.

fourth picture is my 45 gallon multi shell dweller tank. it used to be a community tank, but I took it down, re did it and turned it into this. this is also my newest tank.

I will show you my 10 gallon pea puffer tank tomorrow, since the lights are off, and I don't have any good pictures of the tank. sorry
