This is just a post for me, to share my aquarium owning journeys. Over the two years of fish keeping I have collected 3 aquariums so far; two 55g, and one 15g. The first was a 55g long (pic 1) that I didn’t completely know what I was doing with but I managed to keep most of the fish alive for several months before selling them. This is the tank where you’ll really get to see my progression in the hobby as you’ll see it getting more natural and less of an eye sore in pics 1-3. It finally settled on a community setup with 15 cherry barbs, a dwarf gourami, a German ram, a half banded spiny eel, 2 clown pleco, I think 10 otocinclus and pest snails. Next came my second 55 gallon with 6 pea puffers and some cherry shrimp. In this one I was really trying to learn some aquascaping tips and plan out the setup before I started instead of learning on the job. So I got better substrate for my plants, thought about what kind of plants, wood and rock id use to fill space, etc. it turned out very well and colorful from the start but it’s had some algae problems that are getting better. Right now my hardest tank (pic 4-6.) Finally my most recent and current favorite tank, the 15g blackwater with a betta and neon tetras and shrimp. Pretty basic but it’s just so enjoyable. Yet again I planned on the scape a bit except it was a much more loose plan. All I knew was betta, black water and lightly planted but it turned out very well still.
