My trip to a pet store. A photographed veiw.

So today I took a trip to a pet store. I live in New York on Long Island. The pet store I visited is in Brooklyn. Been here once before. I drove that time and if you’ve ever heard of New York City traffic it’s all true. This store is no more than a half hour from my house. That day a Sunday (less traffic) was a 3+ hr trip. The discus I bought were very good fish.
So I found out yesterday this store just got in new discus. So today I decided that instead of driving I’d take public transportation. I work in the city so I left from the city. Got on to the subway at 11.30 am.
took the M train to rock center 10min and grabbed a D train to Brooklyn
this was a fun trip. Hadn’t been this way in years. Even went over the Manhattan bridge

. Went through Brooklyn

and hit the streets of Brooklyn 45 min later.

Next I walked for 10min to my destination.

Now it’s not the grocery store it’s to the left and in the basement. Some of the fish I was looking for .


yes I bought some .

 

Nice fish! You can keep New York and all it's people, though!

 

Some....hmm . How did they like the trip in the subway?

 

So now with about 10lbs of water I’m heading back to Long Island. After a little longer than 10min walk (boy it got hot today) I managed to catch the D train as soon as I got to the station.
Unforunatly I became a standard city commuter for awhile here just thinking of getting home (hey it’s Friday). So I forgot the pics of the Barkley center and getting on the rail road . But midway through the trip home I remembered . And got some views of scenic Long Island.

so nice and peaceful. Well on that side. This is the other side.

now almost 2 hrs later I’m getting into my car.
10 more min till home. A 3 and a half hr journey. I get home move 2 discus out of qt and into new tank.
and do a 50%water change on qt. I add my new guys to that tank. From store to tank is also 3 and a half hrs.
looking a little stressed I go out to diner . Came back and they are already looking good.
What a day!! But I don’t think I’ll be making this trip again any time soon. .

Some....hmm . How did they like the trip in the subway?

Funny about the time I took the pics off the rail road I wondered should I have left the bag on the floor the whole way and picked it up and put it on the seat. They were much happier than . Well I think they were anyway .

 

Sounds like my trip to get fish should only take 30min but takes 2hrs because of traffic. But its worth it when you get home with your new fish

Lol yes I do. I’m on Discus Review and they really are bad influences!! But I’ve bought 9 great looking discus from local stores in the last 3 months. So much better than the Hans I started with.

My wife is from Brooklyn and we've been back a couple of times. If I get back there, I may have to ask you for the name of the store!

 

Yeah it’s hard to see in the pic. South river aquarium. They’ve got a web site . Also in Queens is Monster aquarium. Also has a web site.
